Rebekah

Rebekah was raised in a part of the UK, just like so many other areas of the country, in which alcohol and drug addiction, trauma, depression and anxiety disorders are a part of everyday life. Although not in recovery herself, many of her close friends and immediate family members suffer from addiction. In a desire to understand the causes of these conditions and learn how one might find the tools needed to learn to live through stress and hardship, Rebekah completed her yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, India in early 2019. Her yoga education paid emphasis on how people, in the western world, are slaves to stress; allowing it to control their thoughts, actions and reactions; affecting jobs, relationships, and day-to-day lives. Endeavoring to share these teachings, she returned to England and began free weekly workshops to educate and provide guidance in how to identify and reduce everyday stress and anxiety before it manifests. This sparked her passion for mental health and wellness, as she soon noticed how it could benefit every single person, no matter their environment, background, age, career, or mindset.

Maxwell

Maxwell is a long time practitioner of yoga, and a certified addiction counselor in San Diego, California. Currently enrolled in a yoga teacher training course with a trauma informed focus, he hopes to be teaching and sharing directly, the practice he believes saved his life. As an addict in recovery, Maxwell was introduced to yoga while he was in drug treatment and is a firm believer in the healing and transformative potential yoga can provide to addicts and alcoholics beginning the long journey of recovery from active addiction. His passion for holistic alternatives doesn't end at yoga; he is also a regular practitioner of breath-work, a student of nutrition and a believer in anything that allows the individual to move towards wholeness and begin healing.
